Tea bowl with carved pattern - 'dry' celadon
This delicate drinking bowl is a joy to make and to use. Every one is unique with the firing playing a key role in bringing out the character of the piece.
These pots are thrown off-the-hump and the faceting technique that gives the texture (using a two strand twisted wire|) also gives energy and 'life' to the rim. This breaks the symmetry of the bowl and also makes it surprisingly comfortable to drink from.
Glaze: matt celadon, fired to 1300c in gas reduction.
