Sauce bowls (set of 4) - Tin White
These finely thrown little footed bowls are thrown 'off the hump', turned to create a deep footing and fired to 1300c in gas reduction.
They are elegant little dipping bowls for soy, chilli, oyster sauce or for a little portion of nuts or sweets in front of the tv!

Throwing off-the-hump is a method of making pots on the wheel. I throw on a momentum wheel so starting and stopping the wheel can be a little tiresome so this method is very efficient. I usually start with a large lump of clay (up to 12kg) on the wheel. I gather a small amount of clay at the top off the lump and make the pot from this. When it is made I carefully wire off the pot and repeat the process; the wheel never stops.
