Plate - Tenmoku with tin white crackle overglaze
This effect is achieve by overgrazing with tin white on a tenmoku base. The secret is to allow the trnmoku to dry out well before applying the second glaze. This creates a barrier layer preventing the white glaze from adhering fully. The crackle effect is the glaze slumping into position when it vitrifies.
These plates remind me of dried up wadi beds.
